Could this be the new dream team? Today, the Hollywood Reporter dropped the first word that Rapper Master P's P Miller Enterprises, and Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's Robot Chicken factory Stoopid Monkey Prods. and ShadowMachine Films will combine forces for a video game project titled, "Play The Industry." While details about this new venture are still being ironed out, in Play The Industry gamers will work their way up through the ranks as an agent, athlete, power broker, hip-hop artist, or other character.
"We really want to take the time and make sure we do this right," stated Senreich,"But the good thing we have going into this is we are developing the creative ahead of time, and we're very close to having that up and running."
Master P approached ShadowMachine with the game concept in which they became immediately interested. Whether Play The Industry will be an online game or disc based isn't known, but they're modelling the concept after EA's franchise, The Sims. Stoopid Monkey and ShadowMachine are currently working on a script, in talks with developers, and working on financing. The game isn't the only project for Play The Industry, however, and the team sees the concept spreading to clothing, a reality show, motion picture, and more.
All of this takes time, and the team doesn't forsee people playing the industry until 2009.
