News \ PS3 to Turn Profit Soon
While current Playstation 3 sales equate to a financial loss for Sony, Playstation boss Kaz Hirai believes that the console can turn a profit by the start of the new fiscal year, which begins in April.
Speaking in Las Vegas at the CES, Hirai pointed out in his keynote that due to falling production costs and a strong software lineup for the console, SCE was able to soon turn a profit on the Playstation 3.
Considering Sony's revised consoles, such as the 40 GB console, requiring less components, Hirai's claim is feasible considering the strong past few months the console has had around the world, coupled together with decreasing production costs.

Great flow of news for the PS3 of late, first MGS4 now officially confirmed as PS3 exclusive after the years of bs rumors, Warner Bros going Blu Ray only, some very promising holiday sales figures now this. Can only go up from here considering the 08 line up for the PS3

Ive never understood this line of thinking. You were happy to pay $700 for a 40gb console with one controller, I paid $1000 for mine but got 20 gig more, memory card reader, 2 extra usb, 2 games, extra controller & BC for PS2 games. I think I know what the better deal is.
