Matt Turner, the assistant producer of Army of Two, told CVG that he and his team “have full support” of the Playstation Network (PSN), but that he experienced “growing pains” with the young network.
While he admitted that XBOX Live is rightly regarded as the superior online console service, Turner said that PSN “has all the capabilities”.
"There are extra challenges [with PSN] just because the PS3 is newer to our team so we've had to work through some growing pains, getting used to a whole new system of development. But it has all of the capabilities, it's just that at the moment we have more experience on the Xbox."
Turning went on to explain the online capabilities included in Army of Two that will appear on the PS3 and PSN.
"We have friends lists accessible during the game, you can send invites and your friends can join you - it's as easy as doing it on Xbox Live," he claims.
With the soon-to-be-release Playstation Home arriving later this year and an in-game XMB to be introduced in a firmware update, it would be feasible to say that PSN has the future possibilities to “catch up” to XBOX Live and perhaps even better it.
