- You may remember in the first "Saints Row" game, your character was left scarred thanks to the large explosion in the ending. These scars play an important role in the sequel as the hero will be undergoing plastic surgery. This is basically a fancy way of introducing Character customization into the game. You can customize how your character looks, from his appearance and even down to his voice.

- New missions with integrated vehicle gameplay involving vehicles such as a Helicopter equipped with a heavy machine gun, a five star yacht and even a jet ski

- The boss battles are said to be "much deeper" in quality and difficulty.

- Fine aiming has been included in the game, allowing for precision aiming.

- Melee combat involves props from the environment.

The developers (THQ) have stressed that their game will NOT be bug free
