News \ Australian Gaming Sales Week Ending May 11
After months of hype, perfect review scores and endless advertising campaigns the highly anticipated GTAIV has only remained in the top spot of the Australian gaming sales for a single week. Instead this week it has taken out places 2 and 3 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively as gamers have put fitness first. Nintendo's newest game that's good for you Wii Fit has taken out the the top place for the Wii, along with Wii Play at 4th and Mario Kart Wii at 5th this week proved to be more successful than Nintendo could have hoped for.

True, but seeing a standalone Wiimote and the Wiiplay bundle side by side for a $10 difference, people will still buy the Wiiplay bundle for the game, therefore its a game sale. Most people then trade it in to EB Games when they have thier specials on LOL.

I did, its been a while since Nintendo advertised WiiFit as madly as they have in australia, and advertising during The Biggest Loser Grand Final was marketing genius. It's no surprise it outsold GTAIV already since most people who wanted GTAIV got it on launch. It doesn't help there are more Wiis sold in Aus than the Ps3 or 360 in total.

Thats the thing about GTA games, everone buys it upon release, or close to it, so a few weeks later it is selling nowhere near as good as it did in the previous weeks.
