-Backwards compatibility is in for guitars, though expect some features that call for the new designs to be locked out.
-The drum kit is looking to be pretty serious hardware, allowing for good feed back based around how hard you hit affect the volume of sound it produces. Along side that, they've been a thick layer of silicon to reduce the their general sound. However a real awesome part is the drum kit inputs, with two standard inputs and a MIDI input, you'll be able to hook up your own music gear to run into the game's creation studio.
-Mics are wired to reduce recording latency with good pitch detection, on par with the drum kit as far as gear quality goes.
-Guitar effects galore await you, in a team up with Line 6, you'll be looking at a wide range of hardware effects from the last 40 years.
-Drum machine + loop editing is in. You've got the flexibility to play it out yourself or work with your beats in the drum machine. You'll also have machines for rhythm, lead and keys.
-80 synth sounds await from a wide range of genres. You'll also be able to tilt the guitar while playing a keyboard melody to change octaves, with three sets loaded at a time.
-20 drum kits sounds are also in there.
-We're not 100% sure on this one yet but it's sounding like you'll have a one touch record option at any time, so you can just start recording and clean up later post jam.
Guitar Hero Mix is the name of your mixing tool, which if you know Pro Tools will be a snap to pick up and mess with. You'll be able to mess with existing recordings and slap in beats, set up light show markers, and it's all controlled via guitar.
Guitar Hero Tunes is the online library of user tunes for the game, from which you'll be able to pull tracks, play, and then rate them. Ranking systems are in so the good stuff sits on top.
-Character and guitar creators plus skinning tools are in, plus a randomizer to just mix it up.
-Finally, just to complete the studio experience, you can even put together your own album art with up to 40 layers to go out with your tracks.
So it's right about now we stop calling this a game and start calling it a studio package right?"
