mass effect trilogy coming to ps3? revealed in March

If this is true then it's awesome news for ps3 owners...nabbing one of 360's exclusives but seriously I'll be stoked if I get to play one of my favourite games (ME) on my favourite console (ps3) and won't need to get a 360 to play the sequel on!
Seriously, I'm delighted about hearing this rumour but I think the rumour actually has alot of validity to it when taking into account the current state of EA.

"One of the biggest questions that came out of EA’s acquisition of Bioware in late 2007 was the exclusivity of the Mass Effect trilogy. Would the games remain on the 360 and PC or would Sony get a piece of the pie as well?

A fairly reliable source close to Electronic Arts tells us that the sequel (and subsequent iterations) will be available the PlayStation 3 as well as the Xbox 360 and PC. According to our source, EA decided to make the series multiplatform mostly due to the “the economic outlook”.

Our source claims that because of the current state of the economy, Electronic Arts is looking to squeeze as much money from its portfolio of games as it possibly can. Obviously, making Mass Effect 2 and 3 multiplatform would increase their sales, as the game would be available to more people.

But what about the PS3 owners who missed the first game? Our source says it is “likely” EA will release a PlayStation 3 port of the original Mass Effect, debuting sometime in mid-2009. Similar to Take-Two’s decision to make a Bioshock port on the PS3, this port would introduce PS3 owners to the series and give EA almost risk-free profit from its sales.

The official announcement will “take place at GDC” (which starts March 23), according to our source. Of course, take this with a grain of salt till then."

mass effect, just like bioshock doesn't feel right on the ps3 imo but anyways, hopefully they can fix mass effect's framerate issues that were in the 360 version and maybe throw in new dlc.

I'll be chuffed to play bioshock 2 on ps3 and if ME (any of them) is coming to ps3 I'll be just as chuffed. I'm not really too fuzzy how ME will turn out on ps3...beggars can't be choosers.

It'll be good to see this come to light. We'll just have to sit tight and wait for an announcement of whether this 'rumour' will eventuate.

Same goes for Left 4 Dead rumour. Even Play.com have placed pre-order place taker already!?!

If this is true then that'll be awesome... especially if they make Mass Effect 2/3 for the PS3, that's the main thing IMO. But Mass Effect is one the best exclusives on the 360... if Microsoft lose that then they'll be hard pressed for killer-exclusives on it. All of a sudden the tide has turned and the PS3 has stolen all of the 360's exclusives instead of the other way around lol Hell I'd trade Virtua Fighter and Tekken for BioShock and Mass Effect anyday, wouldnt you? lol

well, apparently best buy have left4dead pre-order place takers as well but I think that was a fake (though not entirely sure).

Then there are the pretty convincing rumours that dead rising is coming to the ps3 via the psn store.

I seriously doubt that we'll get mass effect 2 and 3, left 4 dead and dead rising...(seems a little too good to be true) but it would be nice wouldn't it...

I hope that Mass Effect dose end up coming to the PS3 as I've wanted to check it out.

As for Left 4 Dead it isn’t coming to the PS3. Plus even if it did the PS3 version would be no where near as good compared to the far superior PC version.

Dead Rising wont ever be seen on the PS3 now, its too old of a game - besides they would have announced it by now, especially with the Wii version coming out soon. And Left 4 Dead is a complete mystery... you've got PS3-hating Valve behind it so I wouldnt hold my breath at all. And I really do think that Mass Effect 2/3 will make it onto the PS3... it was never announced as an exclusive franchise, and while the first one was published by Microsoft - EA are now running the show, and they're almost always about multi-platform franchises. I think if anything it'll be a timed exclusive for the 360.
