The key to Admin-ing is admin/member interaction, without it, the Admin isn't all that good. A good Admin, on a day like Saturday when they have nothing to do would not do a 5 hour shift then not touch it again, they may come on for 5 minutes, and go do something for 5, blah blah, over and over

I never do shifts - i just use the site and im lucky enough to be an admin!

Thats why if we had a bunch of admins who were regulars (and i mean everyday regulars like the guys mentioned) then, i think, we could just about cover the 24 hours in a day pretty well.
