I bought an 80gb external its great its just like a jump drive - doesnt need ac power just a male usb plug and play!!!

no because the warranty seal is right at the top of the bottom, near the hdd slot opening. its easy to remove, just unscrew, and its in the quick reference manual you got with your ps3

i dont think so they have instuctions for it in the manual
and they say if you do return it under warranty you can remove your HDD first and keep it so they cant format it and you wont lose all your stuff.

No not any..has to be SATA and 5400
it dost have to be 5400 rpm but i dont know if there are any i'll effects from having a higer speed drive.
