Just tell foxtel the box is faulty, dont mention anything about the window being open & the rain getting on the box. They will ask you to turn it off & on ect to see if they can work out whats wrong before they send a technician out. If they ask you what happened to it, say you went out for dinner & came home & it wasnt working, act innocent at all times

Is this a IQ box or a standard foxtel box ? & Are you on a foxtel contract ?
If not & they ask you to pay for a new box simply threaten to disconnect the service & refuse to pay (you can always reconnect again in a month as a new customer). If you are on a contract then just carry on about how your a loyal customer & you expect better service etc until they give in & replace the box.
