The Game That Sold 7 Million, Call Of Duty 4 - 10/10
Hey guys and girls. I’m sorry for the delayed Review, but my pc with this review crashed, and I had to start again from scratch.:(. but here it is, enjoy
Call of duty 4 has been one of the most wanted release for 2007. The expectations were high because of the intensity in the trailers shown before our eyes. The graphics, better than ever . So sharp and clear that you can say it is really photo realistic. The A.I featured in the game have had a complete re-do so that you can feel like this is not your average game. The A.I will stop at nothing to make you fail, its either you find a way to take them down, or die trying.
The Storyline set for Call Of Duty 4 is very well structured as it really does make you want more and more, which is great for the replay value of the game. The storyline featured in the game is great, but a tad short, which did make some Call Of Duty fans pretty disappointed. But graphics over length?
The game was a very hard one to obtain at release. The major game stores had all sold out, which showed the interest in the game. Even when the next shipment came around you still would be lucky to have a copy in your hands. That shows you one thing.
The quality of the single player side was very good and proved that it was worth waiting for, even though 2007 wasn’t the best year for ps3 titles, as most were delayed unfortunately. Although, Call Of Duty 4 shun a light for the games on Ps3. The Previous Release for the Playstation 3, Call Of Duty 3 did not make a impact like this one. Many fans were disappointed in the Call Of Duty 3 game, as sometimes you would just get sick of playing it.
The greatness of the game just doesn’t stop there, in fact it does get better, and with a tiny down fall that has made a lot of problems, for the Playstation 3 version. The golden side of Call of Duty 4 was the Online Modes available. The online is something that you can’t just say, “I finished it”, as you would only be able to if you have reached level 55 and started on the “prestige mode”. The online side of Call Of Duty 4 was one of the big expectations. A great game with great online modes. Well the game has the modes, and the numbers, but what about the little things in between? The most wanted game just went a bit sour. The unstable servers, the drop outs, the lag which all equalled anger for gamers trying to enjoy. A patch was supposedly released but hasn’t done a lot of impact to the stability of the game’s servers.
Enough boring talk
, now the review
The Graphics-
Call Of Duty 4 takes a step up with state of the art graphics , style and performance. The game doesn’t get any better. It takes you into the depths, to show you how much hard work has been put into the game. The video cut scenes make you feel like you are watching a movie, but interacting. The visual effects on the game make a big sudden impact, showing every detail and everything that should be shown is right in front of your screen. The objects and scenery have had some hard work put into it, as it just looks great. The cars are destroyable too, which is fun to make them blow up
The Sound-
Call of Duty 4 features the Dolby Surround Sound, which is great if you are playing the game through a receiver or having the audio through speakers or through optical cable, which makes the sounds more clear and realistic. The guns fire in the game sounds awesome and realistic as well, and don’t forget the sound of throwing a grenade on the floor in a building... that really cool sound
and then BANG. The time and effort shows you that infinity ward and activision really care about this one.
The A.I and voices sound great and the enemy will tend to scream in a foreign language, possibly Arabic.
The sound of destruction to your ears is great as well.
The Controls-
The game is very easy to pickup and start playing. No problems here
L1 : zoom in
L2: Special Grenade
R1: Fire
R2: Frag Grenade
Square: Reload

The Multiplayer:

As you progress online, you will earn XP points and then level up. The game starts you off from level 1 and you work your way to level 55, when then you have the choice to go “prestige” and lose everything you have unlocked and start again, unlocking new badges.
The game also became popular for groups of people, because the game features clan tags which is great for team or clan wars. If you are on a clan besides AUF or OPP then don’t expect to be the best, as they both own everyone (true information
) and the clan tag is unlocked at level 12.
The Game also features “perks” which can assist you in victory on online modes.
There are 16 playable maps in the game:
Downpour
District
Crash
Showdown
Spike
Overgrown
Shipment
Vacant
Wet Work
Ambush
Backlot
Bloc
Bog
Countdown
The Single Player-
Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare takes you deep into the modern war. You play in present day and you fight enemies that use all sorts of rifles, snipers, and even RPG-7’s .
The game Features 3 Act’s and A Prologue, as well as an Epilogue. You get to play as different soldiers:
Sergeant John MacTavish , A Soldier of the 22nd SAS Regiment.
Sergeant Paul Jackson, is a soldier of the USMC 1st Force Recon.
Your objective is to hunt down and kill Khaled Al-Asad as well as Imran Zakhaev.
The Arcade mode in the game is unlocked when you finish the campaign mode.
The Value-
Call Of Duty 4 is one of the best buys, every dollar towards the game is worth it. You can’t get better than this.
The Replay Value-
This game will keep you occupied for months, if you really get into it. If you finish the campaign, try it on veteran difficulty, or do some challenges, or do what most people do. Play online

I think that this game has a great replay value and I will never trade this game in.
Verdict-
Graphics- 9.0/10
Gameplay-9.0/10
Multiplayer-10/10
Singleplayer-9.0/10
Replay value-9.0/10
