Social \ Optus cable really slow?

anyone here on Optus cable? i use to have lightning speed, 22mbps but now the network seems to be dropping down and is now really slow. its like 7mb or around that. is it just the network>?

yeah 1.5mbs is the best we can get in good old bendigo. but optus is releaseing ADSL2+ now so hopefully taht should go upto 8-10mbs.

cable doesnt guarantee 21/mb ..if you live close to telephone exchane adsl2 is better

lucky.. im on optus cable and cant seem to ever get over 6mbps :S

speed isn't everything for gaming bones.
god damn people. everyone tends to think that if they get awesome speeds they'll be able to play lag free overseas and what not. a stable 1.5mb connection will beat an unstable 10mb connection in the gaming world. and not only that, the ping in games won't even go down much more. theres pretty much a cap.

i think optus was having problems today.
my net sucked for half the day.
but you have to admit, you would rather have slow net, then losing it all together while they fixed the problem.

I've been having provlems with Optus since day one... I am supposed to be getting up to 20 mb/s, but i don't even think that im getting half of that. I got asked to download a file and told that it should take 11 or so seconds.... 15 minutes later it was finished. Optus won't even return my emails any more after i called them a bunch of Monkeys.. I guess I

So true though all their phone calls now get directed to Pakistan/India.. and half the time you can't understand what they are trying to tell you.

All the idiots tell u to do is power cycle your modem..... Wow, like i didn't try that? They are so quick to throw the blame on the ps3 aswell.. It irritates me because im not getting what im paying for, i think thats understandable?

call them and say straight off that you are recording this call for legal reasons, as you are writting a letter to the ACC showing how optus wont help you fix your connection when you have signed contact for a service which you arent receiving. And ask for everybodys name that you talk too and where they are located (ie melbourne office, sydney office, or so on.). The people you talk too wont care about the ACC, so say you are sending a copy to their HR department to show that the staff is not trained/idiots.
when you call them, you will just get idiots telling you to turn your modem on and off and check cables. the people in india seem to know nothing. They just reading down a list of questions. So just ask to speak to the teamleader if they are doing those stupid questions. Or ask them a basic networking question and when they are unable to answer that, then ask them how the hell are they meant to help.
