PS3 Console \ Another Linux/PS3 n00b Needing Help

I'm trying to install Linux onto my PS3, I've tried several tutorials tonight with only 2 of them working, 1 being the "Install Linux Ubuntu On Your PS3" guide on this website, and ne well I kinda just chopped loadsa tuts up to install Fedora (8) onto my PS3. Both of these have gone well up to the point where I need to use the keyboard. This leads me down to 2 causes. Either the Distro boot loader thingy doesn't support my keyboard (the PS XMB does support it) or the distro is not detecting any keyboards at all (I've only tried this one, no others I can get hold of)
So what's peoples opinions on this?? Is there something I'm missing?? Like having to activate input devices or something??
Or do I need a new keyboard?? If so, which one?? I don't need anything fancy, just cheap less than GBP£15 (Approx. AUS$30).

use ubuntu instead of fedora

Yeah I'm at pretty much thte same stage on Ubuntu as I can get to on Fedora,
I really do prefer Fedora though...

If you have a USB keyboard, it should work fine. Make sure that the keyboard is not faulty 1st. You may also try to install YellowDog Linux. I have a guide under Articles/Guides.
