Just thought i'd make a topic on how people got there ps3, if it was there best day ever, or maybe there worst, with ups and downs how did it eventually turn out?

here is my story

ok i was goin to buy a ps3 from eb games so i traded my ps2 and all of my games in for a deposit then i was goin to laybuy a ps3 and pay it off (this is when it first came out ok)
then i realised game traders were had finance so i could play now pay later, so i went to eb games and made a story up about my mum already got me a ps3 and it would be pointless for me to have two, so with the depostit down the guy asked me would i jus like the cash back for what my ps2 was worth suprised i said yes they gave me the money went to game traders and got a ps3 used the deposit that was refunded from eb games as cash and next thing you know i had a ps3 haha stupid ebay

although this was when the ps3 come out i'm not sure if they would give cash back again but i was a very happy man

went in to harvey norman as they had a bundle deal (free game + charger dock) for $687. paid in cash. chose F1 as my game (but none in stock and they ordered me a copy)...cut a long story short, 1.5 months later and after many phone calls, F1 still hasnt arrived nor has the charger. frustrated, i went back in there to demand another game. manager said they usually wouldn't allow it but as he knew i've been calling every week for the past 1.5 months he said i could pick from one of the games they had in the current bundle (uncharted, ratchek & something, nba 08 and something else). chose nba. so was happy with that. but still no charger dock

also spent the afternoon looking for a cheap step down converter, cos at that point no one knew if the Jap PS3s accepted 240v. what a heavy bastard that was! thanks dick smith for your return policy as well

I went to the shops the next day with the plan of buying a PSP but when went to EB, the game wasn't there. I saw the new price of the PS3 which looked much more reasonable than it was before, so I went and bought it on impulse.

It's funny though, I couldn't get my bank card to get working to pay for it because it just cost so much, so I had to manually go to the bank and withdraw the cash in there.

Hey Sturm - no wonder u're an absolute demon on COD4 - u paid $800 on impulse just to play it!!!! LOL

In hindsight, u must be glad you took the plunge.

Personally I bought a PS3 after my 360 had an encounter with RROD. Had it replaced, sold it the same day I got it back and shelled out $$$ on a PS3 in hope that it'll stay operational more than 8 months (my 360s life before it packed it in). So far so good

I was saving up for a ps3 and not going anywhere when i remembered ekka was coming around the bend and i was working there. So i worked for my uncle at the ekka with a promise of $1000 for work *enough to get the ps3 starter pack* so after 10 days of work i got my $1000 and was on my way to happyvile so i went to my local eb and went in and im like i would love to buy a ps3 and the guy stared at me and went "Sorry man got none" i was like AHHH!!!!!! crying and so forth lol not really but anyway he called up another eb so im like yes but the only eb that had a ps3 left in Brisbane was at Ipswich so i was like ok so i got my big bro to drive me all the way to Ipswich to get it and i got it and took it home a played 2 days straight the end.
