I was just wondering what everyone's speeds were to play online.

I tested my speeds and they are 1322kb Download and 210 kb upoad. I'm thinkI'm going to have to get something faster.

damn you Alex!!! I only get about half that via my iinet ADSL+2. I think the proximity to the line exchange and the quality of your phone line have a big impact on speeds. My mate lives about 1/2 a k from his exchange and gets over 18,000kbps d/l speed... nice.

However, you get 46 ping? I only get about 30. Might be helpful for my COD4 sessions I guess!?

you will not be able to game over in usa servers and get awesome pings if you upgrade ur internet to 8mb adsl or adsl+2.

the only thing (if ur just focusing on games) is to go with Internode. internode is the best gaming isp in australia.

if i go to broadbandguide.com.au's speed test, it comes up with these results:

Download Speed: 3108 kbps (388.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1132 kbps (141.5 KB/sec transfer rate)


and speedtest gives me download - 10369 kb/s. upload - 1100 kb/s ping - 9ms to their server in sydney (but that's their specific server so it would be different for different situations right?)
