I notice a couple of you are thinking of purchasing the game from overseas.
My question is how do you know what region/country format to buy ?
e.g Play-Asia.com They list same game title but from different countries, all no region protection for different prices.
I'd be purchasing for my Australian PS3 is there a difference and which one should I be looking for ?

get the cheapest one that is in english (it says). no difference apart from language.

All PS3 games are region free. So buying a different country copy has no effect. However if your buying a japanese copy. Make sure it says english otherwise all the booklet and stuff will be in another language.
But all games will play on your system, even if it's australian.

Thanks for the quick replies reags & DiscoMark I was just curious. I see plenty of people quote online/overseas retailers and thought I'd get it clarified before I purchased something.

Oh, you misread it, buddy. There's the big $86.84 in the blue semi circle, but under MGS4 it says $94.84.

only the online aspect is region locked, "Metal Gear Online". So if you bought US version you will be playing with americans.

What do you guys reckon the trade in price for MGS4 would be on day of release?

Well lads. I just bought the strategy book form EB GAMES for $49.95 which i was able to bring home with me, and was lucky enough to to see the LIMITED EDITION DISCSET at GAMES which is on hold for me to pick up 2morrow, which i paid in full for $169.95. I'm really excited about it...

I doubt it. GTAIV was a bigger release, and it had a midnight launch, and is still readily available everywhere since launch.

I dont even have to bother buying the game since my cousin is getting and he said if MGO comes on a seprate disc he'll give it to me for free because he doesn't have online and proberly won't for a long time and does MGO come on a disc

I was going to do that two, but NBA 07, the one on play-asia for really cheap didn't come out in aus i don't think, so i don't think jb will accept it because it wont be on there list, let us know how you go though.

paid $99.95 at my local friendly video store today.......oh and they let me take it home too
