Nah mate......I got a DVD of some kind with 6 chapters giving you the background on MG story. MGO is an option in the menu - but I haven't tried it so don't know if it downloads any content or not. I assumed servers wouldn't be up yet anyway.
As far as the install goes - Kojima took the piss there too - u get the screen of Snake just smoking a ciggie and at the end of it he says: "Kept you waiting huh"

Yea they read the catalogue incorrectly. It says $86.84, but if you look at the fine print under MGS it clearly says $94.xx
I will be trying the JB deal however, just hope they don't whip out a fast one and revise the trade in exclusion list.

I saw $94.84 on my Big W catalogue ... but I was wondering where they saw $86.84. I guess I was being too hopeful? haha xD

i dunno but it should last a couple of weeks. I just checked the eb catalogue and you can get a couple games (which aren't on the exlcusion list) for something like $37.50 each, so that makes it $75 for MGS4. What about games like dark kingdom and NBA07 HD, I've seen them on ebay sell for around $20... and neither are on the exclusion list. wonder what would happen if you brought them in. I'm sure you could pick up a couple of games cheaply on ebay and trade them in, but dunno if I can be bothered, easier just to go into a store and buy it and save all the hassle.

Well, I reckon that if it's not on the exclusion list ... they must accept it. Unless they have proof that they have recently updated the list.
I already know which preowned games (out of 3) I'll purchase at EB, before going over to JB. Means I can get a copy for $69.82.
Worst case scenario, I get EB to price match Big W at $98.94

So you saying aussies can ONLY play against other aussies and maybe kiwi's? I doubt that very much, the beta was global. Why would they limit match making, the lag against u.s players in the beta wasn't that bad.
D.C could be region locked but the idea of locking out players from other countries is absurd. No 360 games have done this, and the GTA4 online region lock turned out to be bs.
Have other ps3 games been region locked online? If so the what the f*ck is the point in region free games!!!
After looking around i can't find any posts confirming the region locking after the game has been released.

Konami's regional break up is as follows:
Europe
Asia
Japan
America
Oceania (thats us, with only a minuscule fraction of global ps3 sales)
The 'shelf life' of MGO will be much shorter in Oceania, due to a tiny install base and NO access (if region locking is confirmed) to ANY players outside the Oceania Zone.
What ever way you break it down its taking the piss out of MGO's credibility, sony are tugging their c0cks over "bringing people together" when their real intentions are to segregate players into Regions.
This $hit doesn't happen on any other gaming platforms (barring Army of 2 and obscure korean mmorpg's) WTF are ps3 owners ok with this!!
If it turns out to be PAL servers thats f*cked as well because pings to the states are better than pings to the u.k!
