Still I expected that I could play online with 4 people here against 4 people elsewhere but instead we can play co-op against 4 other teams, not the same thing really, but at least its something.

Being able to play 'Co-op' on-line is something i guess but i don't think it's good enough really, it's a good fun game but they could make it much better.

Nope, it's gonna be crap, because your sofa team will only share control of the one "contestant".

I think thats great news. I got friends over to play online (sofa vs sofa) to find that only one of us could use the controller. I still haven't heard the end of that.

I returned my copy of Buzz this morning. Too disappointed in the lack of cooperative online play. The plan to make it "shared" control is just woofy.

You know, they do have updates for games. They might include that in a later update. If you only bought buzz for the online play, i think you misunderstood the whole point of the game. It's meant to be played 4 people in a room, laughing and going head to head.
Oh well, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it. But i don't know why you would buy this sort of game for co-op online play as the main reason.
And i don't quite understand how you think there is a lack of CO-op online play. How much more Co-op can you get than shared controls? Or do you mean you want to be able to play 2 people Vs another 2 people somewhere else, which isn't really co-op since your still competing against the other person in the room.

If the game is updated suitably later, I'll consider purchasing it again. I played it with four people in a room and it was a lot of fun, but I was looking forward to my partner and I playing as a team, with each our own character, against other people playing as teams, each with their own character, online. This is what I pictured the sofa vs sofa mode to be.
I'm also disappointed with the lack of options in the game altogether and with the limited round types in online play.
And are you nuts? Can you imagine the arguments that shared control of one character is going to cause? No way am I gonna play that!

It's also mistifying why you can't use the ordinary PS3 controllers as "psuedo" extra buzzers.
I think that not enough thought went into the design of this game.
