This is just a "FYI" type thread for those who don't fully understand why some of the threads discussing the "pros and cons" of piracy were locked and deleted.
Firstly, piracy has no LOGICAL pros. Piracy is illegal. If you rob a bank, the pro of that is that you have the money that you stole from the bank. But if something has a "pro", that doesn't automatically mean it is an acceptable act within society.
If you copy something and own it WITHOUT paying for it, that's piracy. Piracy is illegal. Whether you've done it and a large number of people have done it doesn't matter. If you get a game, burn it, return the game, get a refund but still own the game, you've committed piracy. The "pro" is that you still own the game. But the "con" - that is, stopping the developer and publisher gaining from is - heavily outweighs your pro.
No one has any right whatsoever to own something they did not pay for and/or willingly obtained illegally. Don't try and justify it. If you own a game, CD or DVD that is copied and you don't own the original, you've committed piracy. Piracy is illegal.
As for MyMedia's stance, it's been acknowledged that some administrator's participated in the discussions. This is being looked at. Across all sites.
For the record, talk about your console being modded is legal and is therefore permitted.
