Yes other Jap 6's like the skyline and supra etc are more common than yours, but theres good reason for that.

Why are they more popular? The supra only started getting popular after F'n'F. They cost teh same amount of money to modify... To convert a TT supra to single turbo your gonna be looking at 5k for a kit. You still need 6 injectors bla bla bla bla. Ecu and tune gonna cost the same. What newer car (besides the VE gts) looks better or will go harder than mine in a price range i can afford?? My old boss had a VE gts with extractors, exhaust and a tune and i chopped him by a couple of car lengths. My car is reliable so i dont need a 'more reliable car'

Firstly, they are popular because they are relatively new cars (compared to yours anyway) that you can extract a decent amount of power from, are comfortable, look ok, and the motors dont need to have 6k spent on the bottom end to get big power out of (age plus the 2J and RB engines are just stronger).

Youre talking about spending 10k on the motor, right? the standard value of your car is around 10k. You would have spent a bunch on your car so far... but lets just say for another 5k, you could have this:

Jeffie how is the RB26 better? The standard vg30dett makes the same pwoer yet with more torque than the rb26dett. The vg30dett can handle 300rwkw on the stock bottom end easily, it's jsut better to be safe than sorry. The 2JZ-GTE can handle alot more power on the stock bottom end but mod for mod they will make similar power.
These cars are jsut as old as mine.. the last 300zx's were built early 2000. Most gtr's and supra's are from the mid 90's as are the zeds.

The only reason you dont see many big powered zed's here is becuase nobody cbf working on them becuase of the cramped engine bay. It has nothing to do with age (same as the rb26 and 2jz series motors) or power.. because they are all roughly similar... The only difference is that the 2jz can handle alot more punishment on the stock bottom end than the rb26 and vg30. Have a look over in the U.S there are plenty of high powered 300zx's (probably more so than supra's). There are a couple running 9's in full street trim etc, so i dont see what your talking about.

As for that GTR, i'll have to sell my car and spend an extra 15 grand to buy it.. why do that when i can spend 15k on mine and have a mid-high 300rwkw car?

300ZX's aren't unreliable cars, they just have a bit of a bad rep because they are a PITA to work on so they get neglected

as for the age, 4th gen supra's were 93-02, Z32's were 89-2000, so not really a huge age difference, same with the skylines except they keep churning out new models. lol.

Power wise, stock TTZ are slightly slower than stock TT supras and GTR skylines, but use some of the thousands of dollars you will save from buying a Z over one of them and you will easily wipe the smile off their face and have a more unique car

On the cheap spend:

$1000 and you will be pushing 250RWKW

$2500-3000 and you will be pushing 300RWKW

plus...

yeah that is one of the downfalls, the engine bay is too cramped... gives me the ****s.

The zx is also heavy but it weighs about 30kg more than an r32gtr and weighs less than the 33 and 34 gtr and less than the supra.

I'm thinking of buying a series 5 rx7 as another car..... mmmm can't wait to hear some brap brap

Oh and jet, fyi the gtr is faster than the zx (even mod for mod unfortunately... damn atessa system) but it is slightly faster than a supra in stock form. The sequential setup on the supra is garbage

are you seriously telling me your engine is better than an RB26DETT? We all know stock figures are a joke, but why would they stop using the VG30? Why would they use the RB26 in a car to DOMINATE Grp A racing around the world? Does your engine rev to 8k?

We are talking about a car that was RELEASED in the 80s. Yes, you can spend thousands on any old cheap car and smash most cars, so what? supras and skylines still look relatively current, the 300 is a dinosaur. The last good Z car before the 350 was the 260. The 80s models should be wiped from memory.
