So do you think the PS3 is durable? When I say durable I mean physical terms, like can it withstand lots of dust. Or if you accidentally drop it or knock it will it still work and everything?

The other night I was putting a DVD in there in the dark and slammed my finger against a corner, it ****ing hurt but MyPS3.com.au took it well, barely swayed.

dropping it will break it, I saw a ps3 FAULTY selling on ebay because it had been dropped, it looked pretty mangled too. As long as you take care of it, should be fine. Don't think dust hurts it but it sure does love the stuff.

Yea, we carry our PS3's around the city on our shoulder... listening to music via USB.

Ive been extra careful with the PS3 so no cant comment on its durability but the PS2 was pretty tough, I got my foot caught up in one the controller cords once & the whole PS2 came crashing down from a table. Had to open the PS2 case to get a disc out that was stuck after the drop but the PS2 worked fine after that for another 5 or 6 years.

The more technologically advance and complex the console is, the less durable it will be. eg. Nintendo Wii, PSOne, SEGA SATURN, Super Nintendo, SEGA MegaDrive, Nintendo 64, Fat PS2 (and PS2 Slim sometimes), XBOX, SEGA Dreamcas, NES, and SEGA MS = Strong as a mofo XBOX 360 = Pretty durable PS3 = Weak as piss!

The very worst thing I can think of is when I tried to pull the Ethernet cable out of the back of my PS3, it kind of got stuck so I pulled it really hard and one side of the console lifted a little then slammed back down. It was horizontal so it really did not do anything, thats just the worst thing I can think of. I am very careful with my PS3!
