GT HD - On the road to Gran Turismo - 10/10

Intro:

I would assume by now everyone here knows what this is about, and what this game represents in itself, now to quickly summarize what you get in this neat little package offered for FREE!

Graphics:

As I have mentioned above the graphics go into extreme detail. Even when comparing with GT 4, it is easily visible why this game stands. Full dynamic lighting is in effect and you should see it when the car goes through a partially lit up tunnel Everything else is also up to scratch: In-car detailing is all done like if you just bought the damn thing, the driver turns his head and hands when turning a sharp corner, Brake and Reverse lights work in appropriate situations, the crowd reacts when you pass by and even take photos of your car zooming along! (yes you can see the flashes from the camera). On SD TV you will notice the trees and background not being as detailed as could be, but on HD, you hardly notice it...

Controls & Connectivity:

Well, if you played GT you'd feel right at home here! This feels almost exactly like GT4 including being able to connect to all kinds of Logitech peripherals (wheels and such). No motion sensing has been added to this demo, yet the buttons do seem to be pressure sensitive (my recommendation is to set your gas and break to R2 & L2 buttons for that extra sensitive pedal!) especailly moreso the triggers!

Content:

This is a Demo, which comes before the Prelude, which in turn comes before GT5... So the content is quite small, but very nice considering the demo stage. You get 1 Track (available in Reverse later on) and 1 Car to start with, you make your way through the Time Trial mode, unlocking a total of 10 cars (including a Toyota Race Car & a Ferrari), after successfully finishing Time Trial with all 10 cars, you unlock tuned versions of all the cars as well as the Reverse version of the track and DRIFT MODE! Yes you read right, you can now go Drifting in GT and boy does it ROCK!

Sound:

All the sounds are the same as GT4, just about perfect. Full support for DTS helps. There is however only 2 music tracks in the game which did start to grind my gears after a bit (and made me hope the game has support for you to use your own music on the HDD )

Overall:

Best FREE download off the Playstation Store BY FAR! It is a MUST for any PS3 owner... Even if you don't like car games...
