Activision "didn't want Modern Warfare"

Amongst the now popular franchises spanning the globe today it seems it's not only movies and TV industry that's had to fight for it's day in the sun.

On the gaming aspect, Infinity Ward boss Vince Zampella had said that Activision was against the whole idea when they were pitching the idea for "Modern Warfare".

More in lines with staying on the "World War 2" setting, Activision's opinion was that modernizing the series was a bad idea, calling it risky and crazy.

But the publisher's gamble paid off- "COD4: Modern Warfare" has since shifted over 14 million copies worldwide and it's ongoing success is assured.

when CoD4 came out I couldn't believe why Activision approved for a modern warfare game instead finishing the WW2 series because every must have a ending dats why Activision ask Treyarc to finish the WW2 series because CoD World at War is about the last battles of WW2 and CoD1 is about the beginning of WW2.
