A class action lawsuit has been filed by some displeased gamers over the state of their consoles after the recent Firmware 3.0 updates, against Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. First spotted at Gamustra, the lawsuit was filed by John Kennedy, claiming: "thousands of Sony PS3 video game owners who downloaded a system software update required by Sony found that the update caused their PS3 units to malfunction and actually damaged the hardware on many units." It also outlines that Sony had offered to repair any damaged or broken consoles for $150. Soon after this Sony released Firmware 3.01, which is made to combat all problems made from its predecessor.
