PLAYSTATION®3 Parental Control
Parents can secure PLAYSTATION®3 console based on preference to ensure that the experience is fun and safe; there are 4 methods with which to take advantage of this important feature:
* PLAYSTATION®3 games
* DVD video
* BD video (Blu-Ray Disc video)
* Internet Browser
The default password for Parental Control is '0000'.
NOTE: Parental Controls for both DVD and BD video are dependant on the software publisher and manufacturing process.
Q: What is the parental control feature?
A: A mechanism to allow parents to choose the content their children can or cannot access.
Q: Why do we need the parental control feature for games as well as BD movies, Internet access and DVD movies?
A: Games have been criticised for increasingly 'adult' themes. SCE have decided to provide the tools to restrict the viewable content.
Q: How does it work?
A: Parents can set up a parental level of control. This level corresponds to age-ratings from a rating body (e.g. OFLC). All PLAYSTATION®3 game discs incorporate this level information (mandatory).
