Yeah, I got a 46" W Bravia yesterday. Before the Sony offer rumours turned up on the web last Saturday, I'd already decided on this model. I know they aren't perfect, but it met all of my criteria:
- Around $3k... Tick!
- Full 1080P... Tick!
- 46" minimum... Tick!
- 24P mode... Tick!
I would have gotten the X if it had anything particularly better about it, but it has that cruddy 100Hz motion flow you coundn't pay me to use. Spec wise the only thing the 46X had on top of the W was a slightly wider dynamic contrast ratio. The static contrast was the same, brightness the same.
The free PS3 is just a bonus!
I've calibrated it today and will watch a movie tonight, see how it compares to my old one (particularly on the black level area). But so far I'm seeing:
- No linearity issues
- No overscan
- No convergence issues
- No flaring
So far, looking pretty nice.
I got the extended warranty, so I'm intending this one to last me 5 years. By that time, hopefully OLED will be out properly...
