A agree with crazynites, i put my friend on to the same pack and its great value.
One important thing with HDMI cable is that if its 1 metre or less than the quality isnt so important, once the cable is longer than 1m then you need to spend the bucks to keep the picture quality.

HDMI is a digital signal....you are not going to see a difference between a cheaper one and a more expensive one..... with analog technologies there is risk of interference from other sources....
I got one of these.
You can go a lot longer than 1 metre without having to worry.
I use mine to hook my laptop up to my tv.

I bought from here:
www.selbyacoustics.com.au/
Highyly recommended by dtvforum members for quality and excellent customer service. They have an ebay store as well, selling $2 cheaper.
Anyway, for HDMI cable, a cheap cable would do as long as the connector is sturdy enough to prevent lost of contact as the hdmi cable is heavier than the usual cable.

the trick is that they offer a discount on all purchases on their webpage so it actually turns out cheaper

Hi Jeffie,
above you said
"here we go again... "
was that in reply to something I said?
Kudos: 908
Mates: 15
yeah... saying because its digital doesnt matter about quality
it doesnt to an extent... but the signal degrades over distance - thats why most manufacturers use thicker guage cable for anything longer than 5m.
the signal degrades and the receiver doesnt know whats a 1 and whats a 0... then what? you get sparklies all over your screen.
its all about if the cable has the bandwidth to carry the chosen resolution (and audio) over the cables distance

ok fair enough point taken, it is true that the cables do suffer attenuation over distance. So yes to a point it does make a difference, but I still don't think it justifies the large dirreferences in cost of cables.
actually its got me thinking, when I actually get my ps3... hopefully this wekeend
. I might by a shorter cable.... here are the details ( that i have ) on my current cables, its 30AWG, so I don't know if thats an issue over 5 metres?

cost - cost is a totally different story!
if it says its passed certification tests then it shouldnt be an issue - if thats true the company will be on the list on hdmi.org
if they claim it can do something but cant, take it back...

hmmmm unfortunately... I got it on ebay
