After what seemed like an eternity of delays, Sony has finally confirmed via its PlayStation.Blog an April 17 release date for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Priced at a reasonable sounding US $39.99, and coming in both brick-and-mortar Blu-ray or PlayStation Store downloadable flavours, the eagerly awaited PlayStation 3 instalment in the long-running motor racing franchise will finally be able to fly the chequered flag in wallets everywhere. That is, at least for North Americans PS3 owners, as Sony's PlayStation.Blog makes no mention of release and pricing details for other regions of the world.

Fret not yet, PAL PS3 motor heads. Even though an Australian or European release date hasn't been specifically announced, Sony's last major PSN release, Warhawk, hit the Australian Playstation Store the same week as its US counterpart. It wouldn't be completely out of the question to see history repeat itself with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Until that information is confirmed, why not stew your patience over with the new Gran Turismo 5 Prologue trailer, viewable at the previously mentioned PlayStation.Blog post?

I agree, i won't be buying it, I will wait for GT5 later this year..or next..or the year after that & so on.

Dudes! be happy ur getting it, programmers work a long time on this stuff so u can have a car fix. GT has a the most realistic reproduction of driving there is,how would i know ? 25 + year's gaming and real world experience being an open speed limit hyway and street stock speedway every weekend. sorry guys but $30 us is not that much even for GT prolog in my opinion.

i'd say the one on jap psn is a prologue demo. if its the full prologue game you would have to buy it

* EDIT yeah, sorry mate, you must have a DIFFERENT Japanese PSN store to mine definitely no demo there...

there is however a cool looking game that must have been banned here looks too hardcore, looks like a mix of FEAR, HAZE and RFOM from the screenshots, absolutely no english though better be all action

* guess what? no action, classic japanese, storybook horror game, damn! its called Imabiki, done by Chunsoft / Sega if u want to google it...

lol! I know dude, i was curious and downloaded it.... rather disturbing, yet utter crap at the same time! About GT5 Prologue, there is definitely a demo in the store, or at least there was.. around 650-750mb if my memory serves me correctly. You only got to drive on Suzuka, but it had a handful of cars to run around the track. 2 laps and it even had GT.Tv in there.. U could download different stuff... a drift vid, a hd evoIX video and about 4 others. I'll check again, i'll check the Hong Kong store too just in case
