i was surprised to find that most games available currently available only display in 720p, including the upcoming UT3. being the owner of a fullHD tv, i was wondering how many games do people own that are 1080p capable?
do you play them on a Full HD tv?
when you go to the shops, do you specifically look for 1080p on the back of covers?
and do you think 1080p is needed, or are you happy with 720p?

(last one probably only applies to FullHDTV owners )

So in the end i just got a normal HDTV, that supports 720p and 1080i.

And it does the job just fine.

But the PS3 isn't a year old in Austalia yet so im guessing the best is yet to come

either way be happy with your FULL HD screens and when you watch Blu Ray movies then you will get the maximum PQ with your sets.

my tv is only 720P, and im currently happy with that resolution for now.

Almost all the games i own are in 720p except for Call of Duty 4 but i tend to not to notice since i'm concentrating on playing.

At the moment 720p is good enough. In a few years when the devs get better at ps3 development you will see a lot more games that can run in 1080p. But at the moment most games will have to sacrifice something like frame rate or Anti Aliasing quality to get up to 1080p.

But having a 1080p is great for watching Blu rays and other HD content.

remember they made the PS3 and they said that all games would be 1080P. Ah well, i'll never believe the specs of new consoles again.

remember when PS3 had 2xHDMI and so many cool features, ah well.

An 720p game looks just as good on a 768 screen as it does upscaled on a 1080p screen....to me at least. Have not played a 1080p game yet, but expect it will look great. Shame that the PS3 seems to be best suited to 720p. Frame rate seems to be the issue with 1080p.

Super Stardust HD is 1080p I think, and that does look awesome!!!

yeh but uncharted is only 720p and makes sigma look like an up-rezed xbox game

Sony never promised that "ALL" games would be in 1080p, they promised that the the PS3 "WOULD" be able to reach that definiion. Microsoft also claimed that Sony would never be able to reach 1080p in gaming, that it was "impossible" lol..

it can upscale every game to 1080p. but it cant suport games displayed nativly in 1080p
