I hate this company. When we had Foxtel, we moved into an area that doesn't support it, out of their area. They sent me a bill for almost $400- for having terminated my service early and some other fees. I called them and had a go, told them that I'm not choosing a house around a utility, and that I'm not paying an early termination fee because I only had 2 months left and I would have continued the service if they could provide it. I found out later that they have a territory agreement with AUSTAR, and could have switched me over with just a couple of key strokes. Same deal with with Big Pond, they told me that I had a 3 to 12 month wait before they could connect me, and have to pay for it, due to work that had to be done at the exchange, then they say that they can only give me dial up because of the lines in the area. I called another company and had working internet in a week.
I had Austar hooked up about 8 months ago and we had two units, and when we moved last we wanted to return and cancel one. They sent out a postage paid box to put it in, and all I had to do was pack it up and drop it into a post office. Tell them to do this, and tell them to waver the cancellation fee for waisting your time. Ooh speak to a supervisor, I didn't get anywhere until I did that, the other muppets can't do anything.
Good luck.
