I have access to both HD and SD TVs at my place. I play on the SD tho cuz the HD has higher demand for sharing and I'd rather have better access to play when i want than the prettier graphics. SD is more than fine to play on, especially if you're in it for the gameplay rather than just prettier games

I went straight out and splurged on a new HD TV and set it to 1080p and the graphics look clean clear and smooth. My friends agree after seeing before and after and they think it looks twice as good. If you want to get the most from your PS3 you need a HDTV. Why buy a good console if you cant see what it is capable of doing.

LCDs are getting cheaper, and you dont need the absolute best LCD available, just a decent one that can display a solid resolution and you should be fine But get the PS3 first. My two cents

Hey, id purchase the PS3 ... then save for the HD TV ... you dont have to get like a 26" or anything, just get a cheap one ... it wont be on a large tv, but at least your getting the HD ... so for the time being just play like GTAIV on normal standard TV .. get a job and save like $300 for a 19" or larger HD TV.. something that will be decent for your room or something.

It's because there is really no point for a smaller screen, you would struggle to notice the difference of 1080p on anything smaller than 42".
