yeah it should work. as PS3 is region free for ps3 games.

it will definitely work, for single player, but as for whether it will be able to connect to which country's online servers we dont know till it comes out i dont think

I've ordered from Play Asia too so if they lock the servers to regions i'll at least be able to play with u. 
As for working in general it'll be fine cuz PS3 games are region free (I play an American copy of COD4, which was fun while the servers were locked and i was stuck in HEAVY lag)

Yeh I know it is not region coded - i was thinkin about the display format i.e. NTSC working on a PAL region . Maybe I'm confused about what region encoding is about.. i.e with DVD's there was a number, live in territoty 4 and and you can play 4 discs, but isn't there an issue playing NTSC display formats on a PAL device

The only thing that irks me about EB games is how sometimes they insist on calling the store to see if they have any copies available.
I've walked out of a store and just gone to JB to buy the game when they've been put on hold for 10min to ask if they have at least one copy of an advertised game that's at a good price. This is the Perth stores, do they do this everywhere?
So if your gonna price match BigW i'd do it early before they sell out.
Hmm $64 for the extra special edition stuff doesn't seem such a good deal anyore does it.. JB will be sellin the game for $89 I think.

yeah my friend told me it was region locked too dunno where he got that from. he said it was just the online, like CoD4 was

Just canceled my play-asia order of GTA IV... I am so cut!!!
I dont want to buy two copies of the game so that I can play online with the rest of the aussies. I hope play-asia credit me the amount due as they have already received the payment 
Hope it wasn't too late!!!
It was the COD4 argument the finally persuaded me to cancel.
Looks like JB hifi have a trade in deal...GTA IV free for 2 PS3 games, is it too late to pre-order or will it be ok if i rocked up on the 29th at my local JB?

Yeh I was going to do that, but I'll stick with my pre-order from Play-Asia, see what happens when I get it.
