Online, PSN and Hosting \ Getting new console ?? keeping downloaded games

My PS3 has all of a sudden decided not to read disks. (not happy as this is the second time in 4 months that it has broken ...anyway)

Through a "source" I am looking to get a new console and this "source" will get mine fixed. (nothing illegal) meaning I will have a new console not just a refurbished one.

Now my question is what happens to all of the games I have downloaded of the PSN. ( pixel junk, pain, as well as some singstar songs) is there a way I can transfer them over to the new console, or will I have to buy them again if I want them. Are they attached to my PSN logon or

Note:
I have backed up all of my system to an external harddrive. so I assume this keeps all my saved games etc.

I hope someone can help.

I'm not too sure but I don't think your downloads are attached to your PSN logon.

not ture. you can downlaod warhawk as many times as you want. But just like you always with warhawk you have to be signed in to the PSN account that bought it to use it.

So if you go to the playstation store and up the top right hand conner there should be a button that shows you every thing you have downloaded. so you can we download them again.

Just demo, but I think its well backup everything when you used "Backup Utility" cuz all of my movies and musics also back up, and its took very long time to backup into a USB drive, depend on how many things it is in the HDD.

**EDIT**

When using "Backup Utility" its well copy everything, like creating the images file, then restore into the new HDD.....like using Norton Ghost on PC....

Hey guys, in response to the comments about the PSN downloads.. if you check the wording out, I'm pretty certain it says you can download to 5 consoles, not download 5 times.

Also, you can activate your PS3/PSP's in your account preferences. So theoretically, if you deactivate the old PS3 from your account, and activate the new one, you should be right to download.

I think it works much the same as the iPod and iTunes store. You can play your downloaded music on five machines, at one time, but if you sell a machine and buy a new one, you can deactivate the old, and activate the new, and away you go.
