Speaking to MCV, EA Sports boss Peter Moore has stated that he is aiming to make EA Sports “the leading brand in sport.” That’s even in comparison to sportswear heavyweights Nike and Adidas.
Moore continued by saying EA Sports needs to focus on more health and fitness type games.
"EA has had an extremely successful sports brand for years, but we're evolving with new experiences targeting new consumers in our space," he said. "There's a hunger that fuels our teams to challenge to be the leading sports brand in the world.
"We need to knock down the barriers to those who find the learning curve of our games too steep, and find new areas in sports - and health and wellness - that our brand can truly make a difference."
Good on Moore for thinking EA Sports can beat out Nike. We doubt it’ll ever happen, but wouldn’t it just be weird if we saw EA Sports brand sneakers?
