i heard a rumour about there being a new ps3 coming out with 60-80gb hdd and can play ps2 games, is this actually true or should i go buy the 40gb playstation out in stores now??? i just dont wanna buy the 40gb ps3 and then they bringo ut the new and better version, any help would be appreciated thank you...

At the moment no 120gig ps3 coming out. Sony have never said they would release one.

Well they might release the 80gig version here(wich can play ps2 games). But if they do it will be closer to Christmas, probably around October.

For Australia no. Sony Europe hasn’t said if they are going to introduce the 80gig version of the PS3 yet.

Sony Europe will probably have some announcements after E3 in America has finished up. So some time in July.

i heard rumours that they stopped the 80gig and selling off the 40gigs to make way for the 120gig and 160gig ps3 thats coming out later

and yes the 80 gig can play ps2 games and has card reader as well as 4 usb ports.....ive got an NTSC one

they haven’t stopped making them. they are just re packaging them for the MGS4 bundle. that will start selling on the 12 of June. kotaku.com/

Well that’s only a rumor at the moment. But I doubt it as they have no need to introduce sku's with lager HDD.

the current 40 gig units can play PS1 games. its only ps2 games they cant play. As for burnt games i dont know if they can.

thats the american bundle, the Australian bundle only has a 40gb ps3 right? (not sure whether it comes with a DS3, doubt it)

Its a standard laptop 2.5 inch SATA Hard drive.

Virtually ANYONE who sells PC harddrives will have them.
