Social \ Petrol Question

i own a BMW E46 318i n usually i refill my car with premium unleaded cos apparently its the recommended petrol for it. however, since petrol prices are going higher, i cant afford to pay too much for petrol since the premium one is like 6-8 cents higher than normal. is it ok to use normal unleaded without damaging the inside of my car? =S

so how does that work? u refill the 6 tanks of normal then refill the premium straight after? =S

Doesnt really matter how many, I just prefer to run 6 tanks in a row of normal unleaded fuel and then once in a while (Usually each month) run just 1 tank of Premium & then back to normal fuel once thats out (Mainly used to help burn the carbon in older cars.

You don't need to used premium all the time, I know premium also help to clean the engine and give more distance, I used once in a while.
I also prefer SHELL petrol, now im 90% using SHELL on my swift. around $40 a week costing me....

Premium Petrol is for performance vehicles and for anything over a V6 you have to use premium otherwise you dont get full performance from your car.

bedsides if you dont use premium you probably going to spending the same on more refills with normal petrol.

It wont harm your car to use unleaded but you should only do it if necessary because that is what your cars engine was built for and if you go feeding it something else it'll eventually start talking back
