Within the PSN update tomorrow, will be an information database for all the mgs games, bringing everone new to the series up to speed, with all the official facts.
A cool feature is any spoilers for mgs4 are blanked out till you have completed the game, so its pretty safe to go through, even if you haven't played through the game yet.
playstation.blog says: The MGS4 Database is a free, downloadable interactive application that contains the official knowledge base of everything that is Metal Gear, reaching all the way back to the very beginning of the franchise.
Sounds pretty sweet to me

Agreed, I can't wait to score that. I've never actually played any of the MGS games before the 4th one - so I was a little bit lost in places...
Speaking of which, i just read an article on the game that was a bit of a laugh. I don't agree with all of it, but there is some stuff I do agree with (i.e the smoking time) call. www.gameplayer.com.au/

It's up on the JP PSN. It works except it doesn't read PAL MGS4 gamesaves, so all the MGS4 info is locked.

Maybe and hopefully it's a worldwide release.
Remember how the God of War Guitar Hero DLC was released on the European PSN as well, when we all thought only the Americans will get it first?

Well, I'm downloading the Japanese MGS4 database for the hell of it. Apparently there are heaps of languages you can choose from, and it's only 77MB.
I'll download the MGS4 database again from the Australian PSN once it's available

I just downloaded the US version and it can't read my PAL game save just like the JAP one! just hope the PAL database will be out next week.

News: MGS 4 Database Hits European Store This Week
We've just had word from Konami that the European version of the MGS 4 database is confirmed for the PSN Store this Thursday, naturally our version is free too, so you've no excuse for not downloading the fantastic mini-wiki.
