Hey i just read from e3 that a 80gig ps3 will be introduced. I was wondering when it will be released in australia and how much it will cost?

I currently own 105 Japanese (Region 2) SONY PLAYSTATION 3 BD games, 12 Australian (Region 4) SONY PLAYSTATION 3 BD games, 1 European (also Region 2) SONY PLAYSTATION 3 BD game...TOTAL = 118

probably around the same time the 240g slim ps3 is released in Japan 
....and around the same cost, for us in aussieland, at least

Mine does not have the extra vents like in the pic where the front usb ports are on mine and the left hand side under the main vents. Does anyone elses have these vents or is it only the new 80g coming out.

Sony stated that they will phase out the 40gb model in favour of an increase in storage space and a 'lively' sixaxis controller...all at the same price as the current 40gb model.
So I expect a repeat of the immediate phase out of the 60gb model they did last year to happen a year afer that event! (September/October)

A representative for Sony Computer Entertainment Australia confirmed to GameSpot AU that the new SKU is planned for Australia, but "We're awaiting on timing and pricing".

does anyone have a pic of the side of it? there is a post on dtv which apparently shows the new 80 gig model, and it clearly has the sacd logo on it.
