PS3 News \ First Look at the Gametrak Freedom Motion Controller
In2Games has revealed its new Gametrak Freedom Controller which will bring "ultrasonic 3D motion sensing" to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The controller will make use of two sensor bars that are connected to the respective consoles via a USB port and can be mounted to your TV or use the stand provided. The new controller tracks the movement of up to 4 players via a three-axis accelerometer through "ultrasonic and RF technologies".
"Until now, gaming has been limited to the player interacting with the game although platforms such as the Wii have heightened this experience. Now, with the latest motion sensing technology created by In2Games, the game will interact with the player," said Chris Richards, President and CEO of Performance Designed Products who own In2Games. "We are extremely excited to bring this unparalleled technology to 1st Party console manufacturers, as well as 3rd Party Publishers and Developers to further heighten the level of game interaction with the player."
John Moore, Vice president of marketing at PDP said, "We are planning a coordinated launch with other titles from participating publishers and developers that will position PDP’s Gametrak Freedom technology as the standard for the industry."
Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will get the chance to get their motion sense on in 2009, what games will implement the device is another story.
