Ratchet is back on another one of his mysterious, thrilling and adventurous journeys to find his long lost metal head friend Clank. This epic adventure I speak of is no other then the Playstation Network title, Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. It is in Ratchet's hands to strive towards finding his explained missing friend clank, who has been captured by the mysterious race of the Zoni. Will Ratchet's courage and determination be enough to accomplish such a great task.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty begins right where Tools Of Destruction had left off. Ratchet is out on search for his clunk of metal friend who was taken by the mysterious race of the Zoni. Ongoing on Ratchet's journey he accompanied by Talwyn and also comes into contact with the somewhat puzzling pirate Rusty Pete. Rusty Pete has offered to help Ratchet and Talwyn find the Fulcrum Star, which will assist Ratchet and Talwyn in finding Clank. The plot and storyline provides a mixture of humour with explosive adventure action.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty keeps the heart of the traditional Ratchet and Clank series, the gameplay. Its unique style of gameplay makes it impossible for one Ratchet and Clank fan to not enjoy. Whether its whacking enemies with Ratchets wrench, firing various guns and hoovering up cogs and bolts, it constantly provides a pleasurable experience. The new gameplay experience that has been added as a addition is now the wrench to grab hold onto bits of the environment and manipulate them using the right analog stick. Through-out the duration of the game you move platforms, expand and concertinaed bridges, and drag objects across the floor to solve puzzles. The wrench can also be used to pick up certain objects which can include, explosive objects, glow in the dark grub to guide your way through the darkness and force off bats. The wrench’s new techniques really add to the games magnificent gameplay.
The game lacks on providing the users with a brand new range of weaponry. The new wrench techniques are a very nice add-on. However more new weapons for destruction and puzzles were much needed. The old favourites featured in the game include, the Predator Launcher, which allows you to direct a few targeted rockets while dodging incoming fire, Combuster and Fusion Grenades, Tornado Launcher, Shock Ravager, Nano-Swarmers and the Alpha Cannon. This weapons complement along with the following gadgets which include, Grind Boots, Gravity Boots, Swingshot and the Kinetic Teather. Another aspect where the game lacks is the replayability. Firstly to start off is the short gameplay time of roughly around three to five hours. Most likely the game will be lying in your hard drive being used rarely after you finish and experienced the full game. With no trophy support either that also takes out a addition set of replayability out of the context for the users.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty is a solid new addition to the series providing action-packed gameplay, a comical storyline and some great new graphics and physics to go with it. As a downloadable Playstation Network title it is probably one of the far best available. If you’re a true Ratchet and Clank fan who is engaged into the series and wants to continue on the epic journey and experience then look no further than Quest for Booty.
