US November Sales Charts

Its that time again, when the NPD group releases its monthly sales figures for the US gaming industry. Toping the hardware charts for November 2008 is Nintendo's Wii, which has sold a staggering 2.04 million consoles in the month of November. Which is more than all of the other three home consoles on the list combined.

The DS continues to sell with another 1.5 million units hiding under Christmas trees. Microsoft’s agressive price cuts seemed to have paid off with just over 800,000 units, more than double what Sony’s PS3 managed to move with only 378,000 PS3's sold. Though not the 3 to 1 ratio that Microsoft boasted on black Friday.

The PSP and PS2 also sold solid numbers considering the lack of new software for either this holidays. The PSP and PS2 sold 421,000 and 206,000 units respectively.

• Wii - 2,040,000
• Nintendo DS - 1,570,000
• Xbox 360 - 836,000
• PSP - 421,000
• PlayStation 3 - 378,000
• PlayStation 2 - 206,000

On the software side Gears of war 2 sold an impressive 1.5 millions copies with Sony’s competitor Resistance 2 moving 385,000. The return to WW2 didn’t seem to hurt Call of Duty’s sale which saw 1.41 million and 597,000 copies sold across the 360 and PS3 versions respectively.

• Gears of War 2 (360) 1.56 million
• Call of Duty: World At War (360) 1.41 million
• Wii play w/ remote 796,000
• Wii fit 697,000
• Mario Kart Wii 637,000
• Call of Duty: World At War (ps3) 597,000
• Guitar Hero World Tour (wii) 475,000
• Left 4 Dead (360) 410,000
• Resistance 2 (ps3) 385,000
• Wii Music 297,000
