Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have confirmed the un-banning of F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin.
The game was banned by the ACB (formerly known as the OFLC) on November 27th because of "High Violence" and was unable to classify it with the highest possible rating for a game, which is MA15+. Currently, law dictates that if the game is suited to be classified above MA15+, it can not be sold in the country. Meaning any game the receives a classification of R18+ rating is officially banned.
The game has since been given an MA15+ rating and it is unknown what exactly was done - or removed - if order to bring the classification down.
F.E.A.R 2 is one of the most anticipated titles of 2009 after the brillance of the first. No doubt plenty of Aussie gamers and F.E.A.R fans south of the equator will be relieved of that news.
The sequel to F.E.A.R. continues the supernatural suspense story of a powerful psychic child named Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her caused her to begin an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to devour and replace reality with her own.
