LBP and CoD: WaW where close too though.
Overall Fallout 3 is better than both.

If you haven't played it yet, then you need to...
It's a very addicting game though, just like Oblivion.

If you had played the game then you would release that it is so much more than that, you ca play the game in a style where you run and gun. Not in all levels no, but in alot of cases you can run and gun there is no need for hiding or whatever.
