Sony Expands Official Licensing Program

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that they are expanding their official accessory licensing program. What does this mean you ask? Basically most third party manufacturers will be able to produce any accessory and slap a PlayStation Official Licensed Product logo on it.

As long as said manufacturers comply with "qualifying SCE standard and requirements" they can create whatever they want and have it fully licensed. After complying they'll be given the magically sounding "technical documentations" and presumably be able to rule the Sony peripheral world!

Anyhow expect to see a lot more completely unnecessary peripherals for the PS3, PS2 and PSP in coming months with a fancy licensed product logo on it.

Well this is good Sort of in a way if we want to facny up our ps3"s but hopfully we don't get like dummy controllers etc with the official sticker on it, it will be intresting I wonder if this would effect on pricing also because it's"offial" products,
