The much publicized release of that leaked video footage from Modern Warfare 2 showing terrorists killing civilians in an airport turned out to be a scene within the game that show players acting as part of the villains. Activision Blizzard Inc. had stated that the scene was intended to evoke the "atrocities of terrorism" and should not be taken as a description of the overall game experience. IW head developer Vince Zampella also adds that the intention behind that scene was to startle the players and said: We want the player to be emotionally attached. We want them to be emotionally shocked. Modern Warfare 2 has players putting an end to this threat by infiltrating the organization responsible-as the aforementioned footage showed then ultimately defeat them in the end.
