News \ Hands-on: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with Videogamer.com

For those of you eagerly awaiting the release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Videogamer.com has took the liberty of uploading their recent hands-on experience with the highly anticipated sequel to the original Rainbow Six Vegas.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2, picks up where the previous game ended, and true to form, you take up the role as an elite member of Team Rainbow whose job it is to counteract terrorist activity around the world and no less, in Vegas.
From a gameplay and controls standpoint, RSV2 still utilizes the same intuitive press and hold cover system but as you’d expect with a sequel, Ubisoft Montreal have decided to add a bevy of new features one of which is the ability to shoot bullets through seemingly weak objects, allowing the player to take down opponents hiding behind crates and screens etc. Other nifty features included in Vegas 2 is the new sprint button making your point A to point B dashes that much safer, also, equipping a shield is can now be an option if you’re stuck between a rock a hard place and desperately need to be bulletproof as you mow down enemies with a handgun one by one.
But significantly amongst the other new features, shines the new A.C.E.S system, basically a modified ranking points system separated into three categories: Marksmanship, Assault and CQB. However, what sets A.C.E.S apart from other ranking systems is that it also extends into the single player campaign which in turn unlocks new items and weapons.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2, once again uses the popular Unreal Engine 3 with tweaked visuals ensuring a superb graphical finish. Much detail has been put into character models and environments look even more realistic than the original with A-grade lighting effects to simply make your mouth water. Furthermore, the sound in RSV2 is most definitely up to par with its stunning visuals giving players a stimulating feast for the ears.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 doesn’t shy in the multiplayer department either including various co-op modes as well as an online 16 player head to head. So for all you diehard FPS fans out there wanting an exhilarating tactical shooter, be sure to look out for Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

I'm definitely psyched up for the release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, hopefully on Australian shores by the March 20th.
