News \ Sony Introduces Qore
Sony has announced today via the Playsation Blog that stating on June 5th Sony will be delivering a monthly interactive gaming program entitled "Qore"(pronounced core)
The program will feature All HD content, exclusive news, developer interviews, in-depth game previews and behind-the-scenes looks at PlayStation games and special access to game demos, special beta invitations, game add-ons and other downloadable game-related content.
Qore how ever will not be free. With each monthly episode costing $2.99 USD or you can purchase a year long subscription for $24.99 USD. There is no word on whether Qore will be available outside the US. So Australians may need access to an American credit card or equivalent to view Qore
Sony’s Playsation Blog explains how you will be able to purchase and download Qore
To get Qore, simply log onto PSN and go to the PLAYSTATION Store, as you would purchase any other form of downloadable content. Once the single Episode or annual subscription is purchased, that month’s episode will be downloaded under the “Game” heading on the Cross Media Bar (XMB). Users who purchase the “Qore Annual Subscription” will notice only that month’s episode is available to download. The following month, the new episode will automatically appear in your download list. The introductory price for Qore is $2.99 for a single episode and $24.99 for an annual subscription of 13 episodes, using your PLAYSTATION Network wallet.

I might get the first episode my worry is the file size I'd imagine it'd be quite big.....
One of the official replys in the blog says each episode will be 1-2 hours in length, now to download that all in HD would take up my monthly usage in one hit I'd imagine!
Also will be a means to access exclusive demos and betas...

Just occurred to me that when open betas are released through Qorn...and SONY said they would...that's going to be a big incentive for people to sign up - ka ching!!! Imagine the numbers if MGSO beta was available only through Qorn?

Or the other option is to buy a US PSN pre-paid card when they come out. As you could probably buy them off play-asia like you would other imported good. and then just use them to add funds to your US PSN account.
But thats if sony ever gets around to releasing the pre paid PSN cards.

I'm happy to pay for it. Quite like the idea actually. It's just a shame that the US has much more content and options than the PAL territories for PS3...like we're an afterthought?! Despite the currency parity (AU less than 5% to US $). Wat's the bet it costs TWICE as much here...if we ever see it. Might have to get out the entropay VISA.

You could still buy it using entropay account on a US PSN account on your PS3. I actually think its not bad value, just depends on how much content you are getting for that price. If it had as much content as the Playstation magazine then it would be cheaper than buying the magazine & be good for the environment.
