The recent and much awaited 2.40 PS3 update has been pulled by Sony for technical reasons. Those of you (like myself) who have missed the download will now have to wait. Digging about the internet has shown many cases of peoples machines failing after the updates (all models), and requiring reformatting. To quote the information on the above link: "UPDATE: 7/2/2008, the PLAYSTATION 3 system software version 2.40 has been temporarily taken offline and will not be available for download as our engineers examine any possible issues with this update. The Knowledge Center will be updated with information as it becomes available; please check back here for further details."
