News \ Final Fantasy XIII No Longer PS3 Exclusive

In the final moments of Microsoft's E3 press conference head of Square Enix Yoichi Wada has announced that Final Fantasy XII will be making it's way to the 360.

The 360 version will be arriving along side its PS3 counter part when the game finaly makes it to Europe and America. Square still has no plans to release the 360 version of the game in japan.

Square Enix executive Shinji Hashimoto sated in Square's own press conference that they will not start work on the 360 version until game starts its localization for the rest of the world

That is by FAR the funniest thing i have ever read on these site. For starters, There is only 1 graphics chip in the Ps3 with only 256mb of Ram. Secondly, ATI do excellent videocards which are 98% on par with Nvidia. Thirdly, the ATIR600 in the 360 is the same as an Nvidia 8800. The Nvidia 8800 4 x more powerful than the 7800. I never said the Ps3 graphics look bad, i know they are amazing, i just also know the 360 has more powerful graphics processing and the 360 version of FFXIII should look a TINY bit better than the Ps3 version.

coeboose, I'm assuming english isn't your first language and you are young correct?? The ps3's graphics hardware is inferior to the 360's, I'm not baiting just stating a fact. Sony cheaped out on the graphics card, get over it MGS4 was still an impressive achievement.

LOL! I suppose you havent heard that the Ps3s graphics is powered by a 256mb 7800GTX with 24 pixel shader pipelines and 8 vertex shader pipelines. The 360 is powered by a 256Mb DX10 Compatible ATIR600 with 48 UNIFIED shader pipelines (they can do pixel AND vertex shaders). The ATIR600 is equivalent to a Geforce 8800GT, which any PC enthusiast will tell you is about 4x more powerful than a 7800GTX. Yay the Cell has more power, but games are becoming more and more reliant on graphics processing rather than cpu processing, especially since Nvidia has proven that graphics cards are faster than CPUs at processing anything. The Ps3 version WONT look better than the 360 version. Its funny when people say the Ps3 is more powerful than the 360, cause while it has more raw processing power, games made for both 'should' look better on 360.

One would have to expect that the Ps3 version will ultimately look and play slightly better if the developers opt to port the game to 360 rather than have a dedicated development team for the xbox however this is still massive in terms of the "console war". Those that haven't yet jumped into this generation of consles (seriously what the HELL is wrong with you??? Buy a console already ) are fast running out of reasons to fork out for a ps3.

Well seeing as there are still more 360's in the world, it makes economic sense to release on both consoles.
