Maybe in the future... some of you might know that my PS3 fund recently turned into my gaming PC fund

so maybe mid to late next year at the earliest for the PS3... although I may just want to put all that money into even bigger and better PC parts

There no point in buying the PS3 for Tekken: Dark Resurrection when I already got it on PSP!!! So i'm gonna master the art of fighting in Tekken: Dark Resurrection on the PSP for the next year!!! Unless Tekken 6 comes out on the arcade anytime soon which is Winter time in the US!!!

I see the PS3 as a possible investment of mine but not for a few years. I don't see any point in buying something the moment it comes out because it's either:
A) Buggy like the first five or so versions of the PS2 or like the 360
B) Overpriced - enough said.
C) Once you buy it a new price reduced package comes out bundled with several games and a few extra controllers just days after you forked out an extra few hundred or so those memory cards, games and controllers

So it's a 'someday' for me on the PS3, but not today. While I wouldn't mind one I'd prefer to invest my money otherwise.

My mate was exactly the same man, when he got back he was saying "oh man i just spent a hell of alot of money" As soon as he played MotorStorm he was absolutely stunned, he played from 9:00pm to 6:00am LOL! I was happy for him though, i was no different when i bought my PS3

Exactly. As soon as you play it you realise why it's priced so high, I just hope a few more people buy it so it dosn't pull a dreamcast...

I got mine last Friday - the supposed final day of the starter pack with the 2nd controller and the games Resistance:FOM and MotorStorm. I also lashed out and bought F1:CE and a Logitech Driving Force EX steering wheel.

Sure, close to $1000 is a lot of money, but there are some people out there that wouldn't even blink at paying that amount for a PC graphics card, then you'd need the rest of the system to go with it!

As for bugs, my PS3 has been absolutely faultless. I've had two XBox 360s and both of them immediately gave me the RLODs (Red LEDs Of Death) the moment I turned them on. It was only after lashing out on a 120GB HDD that the problem went away.

The PS3 boots up faster than my 360, it establishes an online connection faster than the 360 and offers way better graphics.

The main reason for the purchase is GT5 in both Prologue and full editions. I cannot wait, especially with the opportunity to race against up to 15 other people online! Forza 2 on the 360 on the other hand only supports racing against up to 7 other people, and that's only when I can successfully join a race. About 80% of the time on XBox Live I'm unable to join listed Forza 2 sessions.
I've not yet had any such problems with Playstation Network.

All in all, I'm a VERY happy PS3 owner and I'll be all the happier when the next Gran Turismo instalments come out!

there isnt much too it(1 small track and a few cars) but it looks great but its really just GT4 runing at super hi-rez so gt5 will look even better but its worth a look.
